Which Free the Powder glove is for you?

We created this guide to assist you in choosing the best glove / mitten option. We make a wide range of gloves and mittens that will fit any style. 

Question #1 - do you prefer:

• Mittens
• 5-finger gloves
• 3-finger (Lobster) gloves

 Question #2 - do you prefer:

• Long-cuffs to be worn OVER the sleeves of your jacket
• Short-cuffs to be worn UNDER the cuffs of your jacket

Question #3 - how warm do you want them?

All our gloves (except the BC Glove) are insulated to be very warm with insulation levels (grams per square meter) that are higher than most ski glove models from other companies. But there are differences among styles. Exact figures for an individual pair may vary slightly due to the hand-made nature of the gloves -slight variances in sizes, amount of material and leather thickness. So these are estimates, which include insulation in the liners and insulation in the shells.

• All our mittens have high levels of insulation, with about 300+ grams total insulation. WARMEST
• Our "3-finger" gloves (RX3 and SX3) have around 200 grams insulation. 
• Our 5-finger gloves (except BC Glove) have around 200 grams insulation.
• Our BC Glove has around 60 grams and are not as warm.

Question #4 - how versatile do you need them to be?

All our gloves and mittens are highly versatile due to our design focus on breathability and use of removable liners. We also offer enhanced versatility with our Lite (Red) Liners that are an accessory item. They are made of a single layer of fleece material and can be swapped out for the standard heavyweight liners. For maximum versatility for any individual it comes down to how warm or cold your hands run: warm hands will find more versatility in 5-finger gloves, while cold hands people will find more versatility in mittens -in between, then 3-finger.
